Welcome to MarketingForFools.com. I take your privacy seriously – even if I take marketing advice with a pinch of salt.
This Privacy Policy explains what data I collect, why I collect it, and how I protect it. It covers everyone who visits the site, reads an article, or reaches out to me.
1. Who I am
I’m the solo fool behind MarketingForFools.com.
My website address is: www.marketingforfools.com
I’m based in Malaysia, and this site is operated from here.
For any privacy questions, email me at: marketingforfools [at] gmail [dot] com
2. What data I collect – and it’s very little
I believe in collecting only what I actually need. Here’s the honest breakdown:
| Data type | Examples | How I get it |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics data | Pages visited, time on site, clicks, approximate location (city/country), device type, browser | Automatically via Google Analytics cookies |
| IP address | Your IP address (anonymized where possible) | Automatically via Google Analytics |
| Email & message content | Your email address and message | Only if you choose to email me directly (I don’t have any forms on my site) |
| Payment information | None | I never collect, store, or process payment data – all purchases are handled on third-party platforms outside this website |
3. What I DO NOT collect (important)
Let me be crystal clear:
-
❌ No email addresses – I don’t have a newsletter signup, lead magnet, or any form that asks for your email.
-
❌ No payment details – I don’t process payments on this site. You’re redirected elsewhere to buy.
-
❌ No names – unless you tell me in an email.
-
❌ No tracking pixels – no Facebook Pixel, no Instagram tracking.
-
❌ No cross-site tracking – I don’t follow you around the internet.
4. Cookies – just for analytics
I use only analytics cookies – no advertising, no targeting, no creepy stuff.
-
I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use my site – which articles are popular, how long you stay, and roughly where you’re visiting from.
-
These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data. Your IP address is anonymized where possible.
-
I do not use cookies to track you across other websites, serve targeted ads, or share your data with advertisers.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. The site will still work perfectly – you just won’t show up in my analytics.
5. Third-party services
I keep it minimal. Here’s who I rely on:
| Service | Purpose | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Website analytics (cookies & usage data) | Google Privacy Policy |
| Your external payment platform | If you buy a toolkit/playbook, you’ll be redirected to a third-party site (e.g., Paypal, Canva, Gumroad etc.) | Please check their privacy policy – they handle your payment data, not me |
I do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any other third parties.
6. Email – only if you write to me
Since I have no forms on my site, the only way I get your email address is if you choose to send me an email directly (using your own email client, like Gmail or Outlook).
If you email me:
-
I will see your email address and your name (if you include it).
-
I will use it only to reply to your message.
-
I will not add you to any mailing list (because I don’t have one).
-
I will not share your email with anyone.
-
I will keep our correspondence for as long as needed to resolve your query, and then delete it unless you ask me to keep it.
7. How long I keep data
-
Analytics data: Google Analytics retains data for 26 months. I use aggregated reports only.
-
Email correspondence: Kept until our conversation is resolved, then deleted. If you ask me to delete it sooner, I will.
8. Your rights – you’re in control
Even though I collect very little, you still have rights:
-
Access – ask me what data I have about you (probably just analytics, and your email if you wrote to me).
-
Deletion – ask me to delete any email correspondence I have from you.
-
Opt-out of cookies – disable cookies in your browser anytime.
To exercise any of these rights, just email me at:marketingforfools [at] gmail [dot] com
I’ll respond within 30 days – usually faster.
9. Data security
I keep things secure with:
-
HTTPS/SSL encryption on this website
-
Strong passwords and secure hosting
-
Minimal data collection – less data = less risk
That said, no system is 100% foolproof. If a breach ever occurs, I’ll notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.
10. Children’s privacy
This site is not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in some regions). I do not knowingly collect data from minors. If I discover I have, I’ll delete it immediately.
11. Where your data goes
Since I use Google Analytics, your anonymized data may be stored on Google’s servers globally. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Since you’re visiting from outside Malaysia (or within), please know that data may be transferred internationally. I ensure all third-party services I use comply with applicable data protection standards.
12. Legal compliance – Malaysia & beyond
I am based in Malaysia and comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 of Malaysia.
For visitors from the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA):
-
I respect your rights to access, correct, and delete your data.
-
I do not sell your data – never have, never will.
-
If you believe I haven’t met your expectations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (but before you do that, email me and we can discuss!)
13. Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes are posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
If I make significant changes, I’ll note it on the homepage.
14. Contact me about privacy
For any privacy-related questions, requests, or concerns:
Email: marketingforfools [at] gmail [dot] com
Or visit the Contact page on this site.
I’m just one person – but I take your privacy as seriously as I take my coffee. That’s very seriously.
