That’s exactly why I built MarketingForFools.com.


Our not-so-secret mission

I help smart people (who happen to feel like fools when it comes to marketing) finally “get it.” No condescending lectures. No bloated case studies. Just clear, actionable, sometimes funny advice that actually works for small businesses, side hustlers, and the marketing-curious.

Our philosophy

Marketing is just storytelling with a purpose.

You don’t need a six-figure agency or an MBA. You need a few honest principles, a little creativity, and the willingness to look foolish once in a while. (I’ve done it for you.)

I  break down complex ideas into snackable bits and never use the word “synergy” unless I’m mocking it.


Who’s behind the curtain?

Just one person.
Not a big agency. Not a team of gurus. Not even a mascot cat (that was a lie I told for charm – sorry, Funnel).

Hi, I’m the writer, the editor, the coffee-fetcher, and the occasional fool-in-chief.

I’ve spent over 25 years in FMCG – the fast-moving consumer goods world where products fly off shelves and marketing mistakes fly even faster.

  • First 9 years? Retail, on the front lines, watching what real people actually buy.

  • The rest? Deep in marketing – strategy, branding, trade, digital, you name it.

I’ve seen everything work. And fail spectacularly.


Who we are (the honest version)

We’re actually just me.

But “we” sounds less lonely, and honestly, this site exists because I kept running into the same kinds of people – the ones I just listed above.

After 25+ years, I’ve collected enough battle scars, templates, and “don’t-do-what-I-did” stories to fill a warehouse.

Why am I sharing this?
Because marketing shouldn’t be a mystery reserved for people with fancy degrees or big agency budgets.

I want to give you the shortcuts I wish I’d had – the plain-talk, real-world, “explain-it-like-I’m-a-fool” kind of advice. No ego. No jargon. Just one industry veteran who still remembers what it felt like to be terrified of a blank marketing plan.

So yes, it’s just me. One woman. 25+ years of FMCG. Retail roots. Marketing wings. And a stubborn belief that anyone can learn to market like a pro – even if you feel like a fool right now.
